Such a sweet sad book about friendship and grief. Ashley and Edi have been friends forever and now Edi is in hospice care dying. We learn all about the hilarious, unforgettable moments that have made up their lifelong relationship. Edie’s (slow) death brings all the people that love her together. Although the book is sad, because duh death of a loved one, it manages to be funny at moments and poignant.

the writing style makes me feel like i’m just reading through Ash’s train of thoughts and memory lane, which i found interesting bcs that’s one way for a person to cope with grief. definitely needed time to get used to the constant back and forth of the present and the past, but once i got the hang of it, i couldn’t stop 🥲

also, FEMALE FRIENDSHIPS! never a bad time to appreciate it (in fact, we need more books talking about this tbh but that’s just my opinion)

my only ick about this is the similar names: jude, jonah, jules… always take me a second to figure out which one is who 😭

the way this book is terribly sad but actually hilarious. a really really reallly good book. don’t read if you are currently taking care of someone with the C word. (i don’t listen to my own advice obvi)
