From the first page of the book, I found myself relating to Cherry, the way she never fit in, how she never had friends and looked different than the others, it was all things I experienced as a child

Cherry's tendency to lie was something I also could understand, the lies she told were her daydreams and wishes of things being different, and sometimes you try really hard to do certain things to get people to like you and then ironiccally it just make things worse

I've also felt the burden of excessive guilt, something Cherry also felt when she started liking Shay..

I was more like Cherry when I was a kid but now I think I'm more like Honey

The relationship between these two characters were complicated, they never got along, Cherry tried to find some common ground, but then with the whole love triangle that hope shattered for both, but I believe that they will at least learn to accept each other later in the book series

Cherry's story could have been a sad one, instead it was lighthearted, in the end Cherry learned that she didn't need the lies to get people to like her

I read this a looooooong time ago, i think is was 8 or 9 at the time. And i still remember it as a really good, fast paced, fun book. Its sister drama and fun things.

This book was a light read, and really fun-loving and sweet! The fight between Honey and Cherry was very authentic and relatable. I love all the characters (especially their cute names 😊), and the connection between to diverse families and their journey together. Cherry is such a relatable, shy girl, and her problems faced are realistic and portrays her age. The ending is pretty cliché, but other than that, it was a fun read.
