Whisper Network was an unputdownable thriller. I loved the way the story unfolded. I think a lot of women will be able to relate on some level, after all, we're all living in a male dominated world. I also listened to the audiobook and that was done so well. The narrator had the perfect accents for these women.

Also a meh book. I don’t remember much.

Engaging

I liked the plot of this book, although I did find it slightly confusing at times when the narrator switched around. Overall, it kept me interested and by the time I was halfway through the novel I couldn’t put it down. I especially liked the aspect of Sloane’s daughter and her storyline.

I didn’t expect to love this so much. The characters were flawed and imperfect, the story gripping, and the struggles relatable. A fun read.

This book is about women who work as lawyers in an office and the struggles they face in terms of working mother hood and especially sexual harassment/sexual assault. This book did not meet my expectations. For the first half of the book nothing happened. I did not love any of the characters and I felt the author didn’t let us get to know them above surface level. The ending did have some twists but I personally figured out the biggest one beforehand. Still an interesting story but the writing just fell flat

Unfortunately relatable. This is about how women are treated in the workplace, the sexual harassment, inappropriate jokes and barbs, objectifying, abuse of positions of power, victim blaming etc. It's disheartening that we've made progress, but not enough to create safe inclusive spaces for women as yet.

Read on audiobook (love you, Hoopla!) so I feel like I didn’t get the fulllllllll effect/comprehension, but this was such a good book! Chandler Baker so eloquently put into words the often unspoken and hard to convey experience of women, not only in the workplace but in the world at large. Not quite a mystery/thriller but often reads like one, and has quite the twists at the end! Highly recommend for both women and men, especially given today’s climate of finally seeing complicit silence for the oppression it is. A smart read and an ode to the bonds of sisterhood women can share when they choose to reach across the table.

I loved the first pages, but after that, it was a bit of a slow book. I had a hard time telling Sloane, Ardie and Grace apart. The ending was a good twist though!

This novel is multilayered in my opinion. But it follows 3 different women & all of their experiences with one particular man in the company that they work for. These women work in the legal field & live different lives. One is a mother struggling with postpartum, another is recently divorced mother, the other is a mother who is still some what happily married with a middle school daughter who is experiencing bullying. 
These 3 decide to move forward with a lawsuit that can completely change their lives and careers. 

This book basically about harassment not only in the work place but how harassment can be prevented in young children as well if the correct actions are taken to correct behaviors. I feel like this book comes off very real, with portray many different angles and scenarios. From women being afraid to speak due to possible consequences, to women lying/denying the harassment they experienced, to going full force with sharing the truth. 
I definitely feel like this book should have more hype & need to be talked about more.

The Whisper Network is about a group of women who work at a high profile company as lawyers. Everything is going alright for the most part until the CEO of the company dies suddenly ans that leaves a job opening. Their boss Ames is the next in line to take over and that does not bode well for them or other women in the office. Ames has a history of not treating women well and this group of women decide to sue the company so they can prevent that from happening. What follows is a chain reaction that has deadly consequences. 
I really wanted to like this book because it sounded like am important book at a time when this type of situation is happening all to often. To me all the characters sounded the same so at times I would forget who I was reading about until they mentioned a detail about their lives. And then i felt like the one the character Rosalita who was the only one who was not a lawyer was there the bare minimum just so she would have a reason to show up later in the story and drop a truth bomb.
While I did manage to finish the book it dragged on at times and all the shocking revelations never seemed all that shocking since you could kind of see everything coming.

How dare they compare this the cinema classic that was 9 to 5. This was a fine book. Fairly forgettable and the author was clearly trying to make a comment on the current social climate. Meh, I passed it along fairly quickly.

What an idiot. Blow jobs are awesome and you’ve got the wrong idea of feminism, giving it a bad name. Idiot.


The characters were unlikeable, the ideas of feminism were ridiculous and the reveals were poor. But it was an addictive story, relevant and interesting and totally unputdownable. There were a couple of redeemable men in this story and the author made it clear that there were good and proper men in the office too.

Looking at the press for this novel, there are a lot of comparisons to Big Little Lies. Those comparisons aren’t wrong, but they are a little reductive. Whisper Network follows four working women, three lawyers and one cleaning lady, as they navigate a workplace that has been dominated by a traditional boys club. That established power structure is threatened when an anonymous list of predatory men begins circulating among working women - a whisper network to warn their sisters in arms. 

In truth, Whisper Network takes the themes of Big Little Lies and in moving them to the workplace dial the stakes up to eleven. Any woman who has ever worked with or for men (i.e. all women) will recognize something within these pages. There is even a subplot with one of the protagonist’s daughters to underline how our leniency with predatory behavior starts with children which I really appreciated. 

The plot is somewhat predictable and the characters a little flat, but the truth of what this novel has to say is what makes it compelling, if at times infuriating. I especially appreciated the author’s note at the end that outlines her own experiences that led to the idea for the book.
