Situated along the Delaware Bay and first inhabited by theLenape Indians, Cumberland County has a rich agricultural and industrialhistory. After the Revolution, Swedish, Danish and English immigrants were soonjoined by others from across Europe and around the world. The Cohansey andMaurice Rivers flow through the county, uniting its cities and towns.
