Incredible read. Clive Barker has a way of transporting you into the book. The way he describes settings, atmospheres, people in so much detail, as if you are there witnessing it all. Such a clear image for you to see with these descriptions.

Another Clive Barker book that I couldn't put down in fear of missing something! I was captivated by every sentence. Definitely worth the read.

Loved it. The main character is great. Kinda 'to kill a mockingbird' style :)

I honestly didnt expect a fantasy sci fi with a detailed and original universe from Clive Barker. Having read more horror books from him, here he completely changes his style but leaves some of his traits, such as condensed sentences full of adverbs to get his point across.

Will definitely add to my reading list this next book.

This was a surprise. Bought this one at an OP shop for like a dollar.
Abarat is a weird sort of Alice in Wonderland story. Sometimes that can be pretty brutal.
Candy Quackenbush hates her live in Chickentown and finds herself in an archipelago of 25 islands called the Aberat. All sorts of weird creatures inhabit those islands and soon the dark side wants to kidnap Candy for she carries something very important.

I am so in for the next two novels! Great stuff Clive Barker. I also want to check out his other works.
