When I was about 7 years old my mum read this book to me. Since then it is one of my all time favorites for the christmas time.

At first I didn't think I was going to like this audiobook as much as I eventually did. Cornelia Funke herself narrated this audiobook and her German accent and struggles (slight) with the English language were a bit off putting at first but after a while I grew accustomed to it and appropriately (I think) pictured all the characters as German. (It is, after all, a story about Santa Claus.)

The story was a cute, little fairy tale with endearing characters and a believable plot. As usual, Ms. Funke used her wordsmith skill adeptly to create beautiful images with little effort.

I enjoyed this book and give it a strong recommendation.
