Plays to its strength and thankfully doesn't lean too hard into any one trope. The structure is fresh, the ideas keep getting better and there comes a point where you can't stop reading! The two things that can take you out of it is the dialogue and the incredibly unrealistic diary entries. It's a major issue that could easily have been fixed, so it's even more bothering to see an otherwise great book suffer from it.
