I found this to be an average book and I picked it up because of the cover. The book was interesting and had my attention shortly after I began reading. 

The characters were just okay. Shay was a complete nightmare at times with the over-use of the “sick girl” and “I can do it by myself” moments. She also just acted like a selfish fool too. She didn’t care about anyone’s feelings or her own well-being. I can understand one indiscretion, but she just would not stop. Gabriel was interesting in the visions and a bit boring after Shay found him. Most of the other characters were completely undeveloped and only served to move the story forward. 

I also didn’t like the end of the book. It ended abruptly in a odd manner. It was an easy spot to end the book but as there is a sequel and this book and this book was not that long, It seems more about getting paid for two books instead of completely a book. There is a disconnect in the second book and it could have been avoided.
