Sadly, I didn't love it as much this time around as when I read it first. However it did manage to keep that element of childish magic that made me fall in love with Narnia years ago. The religious elements seemed a lot more obvious to me now, though. That lessened my enjoyment of the story considerably. It seems that Lewis cannot stray from his deeply ingrained beliefs even when writing a story which is supposed to be fantastical. If, instead of rereading it, I were to read the story for the first time now, I probably wouldn't think very highly of it, because of all the bible inspired facts. However, given that it reminds me so much of childhood, I cannot give it a rating below four stars.
