This was so much better than the first book. I love the cast of characters in this world and was glad to jump in with smart and sassy Nina. She makes a great acidic vampire.

Frustrated. Cassidy got sloppy in this one and I can't tell if it was just REALLY poor editing, if she was wanting to finish the series and was told no, or if this is the downward decline that happens when you try to make a series last longer than it should. Some mixed up details, some repeated thoughts/conversations that clearly were not meant to be repeated. Sentences that are cut off/were on a different tangent/meant to be expounded but then left hanging. As usual, the story was out-there paranormal and dramatic and her romance scenes keep their usual flare, if lacking creatively now. But the writing itself was poor and the pace, while still quick in the book itself, felt so much slower. I struggled many times to keep reading. Officially ending my time with the OOPS brigade.
