Nothing incredible but a quick, fun read. More enjoyable than the movie in a lot of ways but reads a little more YA (or even middle grade) than I think I would have guessed. Definitely adds to the film but not required.

I really disliked the writing of the novel. As others have said it’s very much “tell, don’t show”. I guess I should’ve have expected a lot for a movie tie-in, but it still felt a lot of times like the writer didn’t trust in the intelligence of the reader. At least it was short ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
