Nice teaser of an opening. With a brief back-and-forth between present day and 1863. We learn that there is already a macabre sense of death surrounding the Flynn plantation.

Three brothers have inherited the old plantation home, having not even realized another member of their family existed. This story centers on the Eldest of the brothers Aidan Flynn and a possibly greater mystery surrounding the plantation as a human bone and now dried blood are discovered on the property.

He meets a young woman, Kendall, who owns a tarot shop and knew his deceased relative fairly well. He works up to getting to know her to better understand the property he has inherited. He looks in to a local missing woman's case, thinking he may have come across her remains. Meanwhile, Kendall seems to be having g strange occurrences with her tarot and some of her customers. So much mystery surrounds this book and I really enjoyed seeing Aidan and Kendall's relationship grow throughout the book. The ending g was thrilling and quick and kept me on my toes.
