I heard about this series through Instagram and instantly bought myself a box set due to the cool covers and fascinating synopsis. As soon as they arrived, I was ready to step into the first book, and I was not disappointed. 

Skulduggery Plesant is a book that has everything I love (Magic, weirdness and adventure.) Throughout my reading experience, I was not disappointed and can not wait to delve into book two as soon as possible!! 

“The world is bigger than you know and scarier than you might imagine. The only currency worth anything is being true to yourself, and the only goal worth seeking is finding out who you truly are.”

My favourite thing about this book, Skulduggery and Stephanie. These two characters are incredible!. I found them both so funny, full of weirdness and incredibly compatible. I love how they clicked and became friends as if they had been that way their entire lives. I love their connection and bond, and most of all, I love the loyalty between them. I think a good story starts with unforgettable characters, and Derek created two incredible characters full of life and weirdness (My kind of characters).

I can't wait to read and discover what both Stephine and Skulduggery get up to in the rest of the series, as I truly loved the first book a lot!!

This was a book i read a while ago like.... it's been like 5 years but it left a strong impact that much that i still remember the characters and i really want to read it again and now the whole series ! 
Oh my their bantering is the most fun part! loved the characters. oh i'm sure gonna encourage this book to the young generation. WE NEED THIS FANTASY!

Skulduggery Pleasant is a unique character in that he is a skeleton. He is also a wisecracking detective that works to maintain the balance between his world and the human world. When his friend dies, he establishes a friendship with the niece and together, they work to keep their enemies from finding the Sceptre of the Ancients which might be used to change the balance between worlds forever. This story isn't the type of story that I usually like, but this one was a fast moving, action-packed fantasy filled with fun for the reader.

I get that this is supposed to be a children book, and it is! but it has the ability to make a grown up ( if I am considered a grown up???) smile and enjoy it. It is easy read and sometimes I knew beforehand what was going to happen, but it still pulled me in and gave me a pleasant time. I can imagine that this book would have great reading aloud potential
