All the books in this series were good… but… what is this?

This may be an unpopular opinion. I didn’t hate this one as much as everyone else did. I knew that people didn’t like this one as much as the other, but as I was reading I kept asking myself, “What could possibly happen that everyone hates this book?” Then I read about it involving the ex-wife. So I will say I don’t know if I just came off a not so good book or if I’m crazy but I didn’t hate the relationship they had. They were two people who were in a situation and only had one another for nearly a decade living unhappily. But my thoughts on what happened between Foster and Vivienne are different than my thoughts just on Vivienne, specifically the latter part of the book but I won’t got into that. The only other part I didn’t like was how they all put Talia through the ringer, pun intended, all at once. This actually had the opportunity of this book being a long-term grovelling situation and that was a bit disappointing. So while this isn’t my favorite book in the series I don’t have as many issues with it like others did.

honestly I loved Foster and Talia and in this book you can really tell how much love they both have each other. it's a very soulmate-esq romance. 
however what over fell short for me is the actual plot. I feel like they rekindled their relationship so quickly and the other overall conflict felt so minuscule. like the didn't have to wait seven years if Foster just communicated to her what was going on. she didn't have to get her heart hurt.
 
Talia as a character was so strong but it wasn't expressed correctly. she felt like she just let people walk all over without putting up a fight. and look I get the whole emotional repression and the need to avoid a conflict but hun something's got to give...you can't let people walk all over like that.
 
Foster just came swinging as soon as he walked into Quincy and if I was Talia I would've been like 'sir..I haven't seen, let alone thought of you in seven years...dafuq are you doing in my hometown just out of the blue????' the ending felt really anticlimactic and I guess congrats on the fight?? 

the kid that wasn't his kid but is his kid is sweet and probs my fav part of the book. overall this book just fell short for me and there were a lot of plotholes that just felt unnecessary. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but I still love this entire town and the entire Edens family have my heart <3

My best parts as always starts with “The Edens” I love that family. the way every character is so well written and how they move around each other in every book with such ease.

So many people that I loved in this one like Kadence, Jasper and of course Foster. A big part of me hates second chance romance books but I wouldn’t miss Talia’s book. I’m also very curious about the fourth book and how Eloise got herself in such mess.

This one was so good, so entertaining. Foster comes to Quincy chasing Talia after seven years being apart. He comes with so many apologies and so many explanations. So many people that I loved in this one like Kadence, Jasper and of course Foster. A big part of me hates second chance romance books but I wouldn’t miss Talia’s book. I’m also very curious about the fourth book and how Eloise got herself in such mess. 

The tension and angst in this book is off the charts. This whole series is really great and Perry’s writing and character development is amazing. Yeah there’s a lot of messed up stuff in this book(and lack of communication which is my least favorite— they’re figuring it out now though) that happens but I was still rooting for Talia and Foster the whole time. They deserve all the good things. 

Meh. I think Talia forgave him too soon and I did not like Foster. He gave me the ick lol.

least favorite of the Edens thus far

This is my least favorite book so far in this series. I think it was the miscommunications. It's not what I expected after the first two books and I found myself rolling my eyes a lot during this book and wishing it was over.

taliafoster are so personal to me that it hurts. and they're the "dance with me" couple!!!

“Dance with me.” I took his hand, letting him lead me into the center of the kitchen, where he swept me into his arms. We made it a whole three turns before his bare foot stepped on mine. 

I feel like compared to the other male leads of the first two books, Foster seemed more flawed as a love interest and I feel like that makes him more human and made me love him more.

I know the book is about Foster’s journey to win Talia’s forgiveness but I wasn’t expecting it also be Talia’s journey to open up again, and be emotionally open! I’m glad the author didn’t rush with Talia immediately taking back Foster and saying “I love you” back because it felt realistic to me. Her internal hesitance to trust and love again was written well!! I also love that Foster was so patient with her too like “I waited a long time for you, love. I’ll wait as long as you need. You are mine.” I died

I wasn’t expecting to relate to Talia’s character so much. Talia barely talking/showing about her emotions and her vulnerabilities even to her family/twin. Her emotional shell. Her shield from the world. Even though Talia has her large family by her side, she has been living and enduring life on her own. Talia’s character and her struggles felt so real and so relatable to me which makes this book my personal favorite!!

foster: “the moment her blue eyes met with mine, my heart skipped. Pretty sure it always would where this woman was concerned.”

talia: “My heart leapt. It always leapt, the traitorous organ.”

Me sorprende que tanta gente haya odiado este libro, al punto que la autora tuvo que salir a pedir respeto a su persona por todas las “críticas” (disfrazadas de ofensas directas) que le estaban dando. 

La verdad es que yo amé la historia de Foster y Talia. Al principio pensé que la iba a odiar o no me iba a enganchar porque no soy fan del second chance, por lo mismo que es mucho sufrimiento y leer cosas del pasado.

Pero quedé súper sorprendida de lo mucho que me encantó. Desde el principio caí por Foster, y es que ya estoy harta de los personajes fríos y “no digo lo que siento”, denme personajes como Foster que cada pensamiento sea de lo mucho que ama a su Tally, de lo mucho que la aprecia. Y no sólo lo piensa, se lo dice.

Hubo cosas que me hubiera gustado ver, como que ambos pasarán más tiempo en Garnet Flats pues así se llama el libro y solo se menciona dos veces. O que Talia le hiciera frente a sus compañeros de trabajo y exigiera respeto y reconocimiento; que la llamaran como lo que es, la Doctora Eden.

Fuera de eso estoy totalmente enamorada de este libro, ojalá le dieran una verdadera oportunidad y conocieran toda la verdad de Foster antes de juzgarlo, porque dios que hombre, como lo amo. Nada más que decir.

I have been looking forward to this for months and I am lowkey very sad I have already finished it lmao.

There were so many things about this book that I absolutely loved. Foster and Talia's love was absolutely beautiful and I hate the hurt that they both suffered during their 7 years apart. Obviously I read a lot of books and the words "true love" are always thrown around, but I feel like Foster and Talia were the embodiment of true love, as cheesy as that sounds (ew). Even after 7 years apart, Foster knew Talia. Knew when she had her shields up and knew her little giveaways when something more was bothering her. 

Foster's love for Talia is unmatched. That man loved her. Like, really and truly loved her. It was the most endearing thing. Not to mention he was also so incredibly giving, sweet, and such a gentleman. Ugh. I love him. 

I won't say much more because there were little twists that I didn't see coming, but I'll just say that I loved how everything played out. Trust the process lmao.

Also, I can already tell that this is going to be my favorite series by her and I need the next book like, yesterday.

talia and foster served so damn hard!! i wasn't expecting to love this book and them this much but i do i truly do!! read them so fast but i just couldn't stop, i was addicted and i love them so much!! now that ending damn jasper and eloise's book needs to hurry up ajdkd

Devney Perry has done it again

This book was incredible, the writing did not fail us and I’m reluctant to say that this book might have been better juniper hill (that hurt). Talia and Foster really served with the second chance trope and I will be obsessing over them here on out! Chapter 11 was truly unxcepted but Devney was able to work it into the story line so well. Cannot wait for Eloise and Jaspers book!!

this is the best one in the series so far. 
a few months ago i started this series and fell in love with the setting, the family, all of it. i had really liked the previous books, specially knox’s. however, this one, talia’s book, takes the prize. 
i cannot tell you how much i loved this. 
the beginning is intriguing making you stick to the book and then we have everything else - the pining, the domestic scenes. 
i love how how much they loved each other was never a question and how there was barely any doubts when it came to it. 
i loved foster. this man!! the way he worshipped talia and truly made a vow to put her first from that point on? ooooof my heart couldn’t take it. 
i could say there was this *one scene* that sealed the deal but everytime I thought I had read my favourite scene, a new one would come up. 
*spoiler alert*
nonetheless, that scene where foster tells his agent to give talia a notebook… i had no words. it made me giggle, kicking my feet in the air, i don’t even know! 
so yes, after all this rambling, 5 stars. simply amazing. beautiful. and everything a romance reader is looking for!
