Dark Alpha’s Claim is a fiery hot urban fantasy romance. To be honest I have no idea where to categorize this but the setting feels very fantasy although the connecting series has dragons but it has a strong “fae” presence in it so that is definitely fantasy. And it has a similar setting to that of “KMM Fever Series”. But the romance is highly present which I love. I do enjoy a urban fantasy setting. I also hadn’t realized how SHORT these books are and I am kinda sad about it haha once I read this one I am now realizing I should have read the Dark Kings fully before jumping into this one. Because while I didn’t see much of the Dark Kings, they were referred to and we do have some interaction and I have a feeling we will see much more of them as I delve deeper in the series so I am highly debating if I should finish the Dark Kings. If any of you have read both series, let me know if I should continue or go back and finish up the Dark Kings.

I am really fascinated with how Donna Grant wrote this book and I was hooked from the beginning and what a quick fun read this turned out to be. Its only 150 pages, so the romance builds quickly, its one of those forbidden themes. The hero is a reaper and is forbidden to have any intimate romantic relationship, and his job is to hunt evil dark fae. But he and Jordyn quickly fall for each other in one night (and yes its instant love) but they can’t be together or they could both die. But we see them both go on a journey as our heroine is being hunted by Dark Fae, and her only hope of survival is by standing with the reapers.

I absolutely adored how the plot developed and it kept me on the edge all the way through. I was so intrigued by how this author would implement this one and seeing how she would develop this story and while it happened quickly, I became so invested with these characters. The combination of all the elements and seeing how this one really sets the stage for all the others was such a treat to read. I really just wanted more and more of this one and seeing how this wrapped up but also gave you a teaser of what was to come has me eager to read more into this fantastical world that Donna Grant has built.

I've always loved Donna Grant's "Reaper" series but this installment fell short in comparison to the others I have previously read and enjoyed. I just wasn't invested in the characters nor storyline as much as I wanted to be and overall, the book was just… blah. You know? Sure it wasn't terrible and to some extent I did like certain aspects to Dubhan and Kyra relationship and their journey but there was no wow factor. Sadly this installment wasn't for me yet nevertheless I very much look forward to seeing what the author has in store for us next.

Overall Opinion:
What the Fek? This was a lot shorter than I had expected, so when I breeze through the ARC, the fantasy novel was over before I knew it. To sum it up there was action, romance and great characters that had me turning the pages without missing a beat. Let's not forget to mention that "Dark Alpha's Redemption" didn't out beat the previous installment but I still had an overall enjoyable reading experience and the author was able to surprised me with a twist I wasn't expecting which I wished she would have further explored. Moreso the romance between Maeve and Bradach love was instant and there just wasn't enough built up leading to the whirlwind romance and despite that, Donna Grant made that up with the other great elements that brought this story together. Overall decent read and I can't wait for the next one.

Dark Alpha's Embrace is the second book of the series The Reapers. Although it is a standalone, it is best to read the first book to get a clearer picture of the story. Please also note that it also interconnects with the Dark Kings series.

Among the reapers, there are light and dark fae working together under the supervision of Death. They bring about justice whenever a fae commits an unforgivable crime. While on a mission, Kyran encounters a half-fae by the name of River who is more than capable of defending herself. Both have a tragic past and as I read, it was one revelation after another. I felt sympathy for the Kyran and River.
The book has a lot of the elements I look for. It is action packed and has a healthy dose of romance.The book is also written in several of the characters' viewpoints. The one that makes me most curious is Death. Hopefully she has a book of her own.

The plot of the story is quite fast paced and very intriguing. There is a new twist that keeps me on the edge of my seat.
 
Final Thoughts
 
If anyone is interested in reading this book but hasn’t read the series, I strongly suggest you read them in order so there is a better understanding of the characters’ stories and events that have occurred. This series is also connected to the Dark Kings series so have a look at that as well. 
 
It is well written and engaging. The main characters as well as the secondary characters are well developed and have hidden depths. The more I read about them the more I can’t wait to know their stories.
 
This is definitely a highly recommended read if you are a fan of Donna Grant’s books. If you are into the paranormal, fae, a brotherhood of assassins. Then this is for you. Looking forward to the next installment to the Reapers series.

I really enjoy this series. You can engage the brain with all the myths and legends or just go with the flow of the romance. I'm hugely enjoying this series. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Eoghan was one of the original reapers. He was captured and sent into the darkness. But when he hears a haunting melody he follows the music and is pulled through a portal stone, by the skin of his teeth as the monster at his heels almost had him!

A lot has changed since he was captured but Eoghan is more than entranced by the musical talents and beauty of Thea. Thea has been drawn o the stones since she was a child. She finds solace playing at the stones. But she gets more than solitude when a portal opens and she feels the need to help the male trying to escape. 

Eoghan took a vow of silence but can he keep quiet and not voice the feelings he has towards Thea?

Death appears, now in a haggard state, and tells Eoghan that he is now in charge of a further group of Reapers. But first he has to tell his original team-mates that he has returned! Thea is more than a musical savant and there are major plans afoot involving her, but I was left reeling when I found out who and why!

Eoghan and his new band of Reapers are very intriguing and I can't wait to see what they are like in more depth in the following books. Great read.

With the original Reapers having defeated Bran, it's time for the New Kids on the Block to take up the reins!

This new team of Reapers are continuing with Erith's orders and keeping tabs on a certain Ubitch and looking for Xaneth. But Ubitch is keeping off the radar and Bradach finds himself wrapped up in the mystery which is Maeve.

They are opposites that don't really want to attract but keep finding themselves doing just that. Lots of humour and a great way to bridge the gap between the two Reaper teams. Great writing, superb characterisation and witty banter!

Kyra has always felt like the odd one out in her family. She didn't want to conform to their ideals and she was lucky enough that her aunt took her in and nurtured her. But her aunt went missing decades ago and Kyra is searching for her. But during her search she stumbles into the magic bubble that was thrown over the Light Castle and she witnessed the Reapers in action!

Now she seems to call a certain tall, dark deadly Reaper to her area, just by thinking about him. That's new!!!

Dubhan, like all Reapers, was betrayed in life and Death (aka Erith) then saved him and made him a Reaper. Now he is drawn to a strange Fae, who does all the little things like a human ?!?!

Dark Alpha's Need

Reapers are back and ready for more action against the others!

Torin like all reapers was betrayed. He gave up his past to become a Reaper and continues to be the faithful and dedicated warrior he always was. But one brief, chance encounter with Breda and he is fascinated with her.

Breda moves freely amongst the Fae but she is not all that she appears. She has a rare and raw talent, one her odious mother and grandmother used to their own advantage. She may have been recruited by the others but she now knows just what they are up to and she needs to find the elusive Reapers to help her end their plans once and for all.

Torin and Breda's story is a quick read and there is no big AHA moment. They just drift into their relationship. Most of the angst and tension comes from her fraught family relationships and the danger intrinsic of the Others. Breda really flourishes during the story; learning new skills and finding out hobbies that just give her enjoyment. Although we do find out about Torin's betrayal, his past is still largely unknown so I felt that we didn't connect with him as fully.

We also got to meet the Six and I really want to know who the leader is - I'm getting major UBeatch vibes from her I'll admit!

Aisling and Xaneth seem doomed - I do hope we don't have to wait too long for their HEA!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. 

At this point, I am pretty invested in this series. I love the relationships that Grant has developed between the characters and their love interests, I love seeing glimpses of those that I have met in previous books and seeing how direction this war is going. This book did not disappoint in those aspects. There was plenty of action, adventure, and steam. 

All that being said, this was a slower read for me than the other books have been. I am not really sure that the reason for that was. I loved the story the Grant developed in this one and the relationship between Kyra and Dubhan made me really happy.

Political intrigue, secrets, and a lighting romance, oh my. This book is provides an interesting story filled with compelling characters, that made it hard to put down. 

I was very worried entering into reading this book because I had not read any other books in the series previously. I wondered if I would be able to become invested in a literary universe that had already been established and feel for tangential characters that were already established. Luckily, I found that I did not feel lost, though I did have to work to put some of the pieces together. 

I really enjoyed the war plot that was actually center stage, with the budding romance more of an after thought. I believe that writing decision will make this book an enjoyable read for a varied audience. For me, I was left craving .more both between the main characters and the story in general. I will probably read other books in the series because I want to know what will happen next.

I had heard of the Reaper series but I hadn't gotten around to reading any of the books. So when the publisher approached me to review this series, I decided, why not. Even though it is the 6th book in the series, I figured I could follow the plot. Which I did, kinda. The author kept bringing up earlier characters and their relationships. At one point, I couldn't keep everything straight in my head. Other than a few quibbles that I had with characters, I enjoyed reading Dark Alpha's Hunger.

I thought that Eoghan and Thea's relationship started off odd and stayed a little odd. It was almost stalkerish since Eoghan decided to follow Thea around until he revealed himself. The only connection that he had with her was through her music. When she played her violin, he could find her. I thought it was a little creepy. Once they were together, they had great chemistry which bled over to fantastic sex.

Speaking of the sex scenes, these were hot. The chemistry between Eoghan and Thea was off the charts. I had to fan myself a few times. If it could, my Kindle would have steamed up.

I felt that Thea got the stick end of things during the book. First, she brings Eoghan back from the darkness. Then she is semi-stalked by him until he shows himself. Then her biological mother kidnaps her and lays a lot of crap on her. That girl needed a stiff drink and a hug by the end of the book. She had been put through the wringer. I did like that she was an accomplished violinist. I loved how music pulled her from a crippling depression at an early age and gave her purpose.

Eoghan's backstory killed me to read. No wonder he chose to take a vow of silence. I would have too if I had been put through what he went through. I didn't get why Death told him to rescind his vow of silence until the end of the book. Then it hit me in an "AHA" moment. I liked his relationships with the other Reapers. There was an instant bond between them.

The end of the book was interesting and laid a definite foundation for the next book.

I would give Dark Alpha's Hunger an Adult rating. There is sex. There is language. There is violence. I would recommend that no one under the age of 21 read this book.

I would reread Dark Alpha's Hunger. I would also recommend it to family and friends.

Dark Alpha’s Redemption was an exciting story. I felt that it was more of a filler book in the series — the calm before the storm (ie, the final battle) book. I didn’t mind that at all.

Dark Alpha’s Redemption focused on Bradach and Maeve’s relationship. It was a romance that I didn’t see coming. If the author had told me, a few books back, that they were going to get together, I would have laughed — not those two. So, yes, I was surprised when I saw that it was Bradach and Maeve.

Maeve and Bradach had some intense sex scenes. I liked that the author chose to build up their sexual attraction. I also loved where they first had sex. It was almost like a vast EFF You to Usaeil. The sex scenes themselves were steaming hot. I was expecting my Kindle to short circuit, that is how hot they are.

I loved that the Dragon Kings were included and they were still searching for Conn. I was waiting for Rhi to show up. I was expecting her to make an appearance. Where was she and what was she doing?

The storyline with Xaneth was heartbreaking. I hope that someone finds him. Because I have a feeling that Usaeil is going to injure or kill him.

I want to know how the Trackers are made!!! I was fascinated by them. The end of the book hinted that the Reapers were going to look into it.

Dark Alpha’s Redemption did have a typical romance HEA. But, before that could happen, I thought that Death’s interrogation of Maeve was perfect. I already can’t wait for the next book!!

I was excited to read Dark Alpha’s Temptation. The promise of finally getting some knowledge of who the Others are and what their agenda excited me the most. I won’t lie and say that Dark Alpha’s Temptation delivers on that promise. Instead, what it does, is add to the mystery of who the Others are.

Dark Alpha’s Temptation was a filler book. There was no progression of the Reaper storyline. Don’t get me wrong; I loved the book. It’s just that I wish the storyline progressed a little more.

The plotline of Dark Alpha’s Temptation was lightning fast. As with most fast-paced books, there was some lag in the plotline. I didn’t mind it because once the author got over the lag, the book shot along.

Kyra and Dubham’s relationship was sexually charged right from the beginning. Some serious sparks were coming off the pages. When they finally did have sex, I thought my Kindle was going to combust spontaneously. It was that good.

I liked Kyra. I wanted to know why she was so focused on Dubham. There was a twist in her plotline that I didn’t see coming. I felt terrible for her.

Dubham was your typical strong but silent type. He was suspicious of Kyra but so attracted to her. His backstory was awful to read, and how he died was even more appalling. I can’t even begin to imagine what that was like for him.

I wanted to know where Rhi went, as did everyone else. There was a colossal complication with that storyline that made me go “Hmmmm.“

Like I mentioned above, the storyline with the Others got more mysterious. What was revealed at the end of the book surprised me. I want to know what their end game is!!!

The end of Dark Alpha’s Temptation was exciting. I have a feeling that the main characters in the next book were revealed. I also am looking forward to seeing what the Others are going to bring to everyone in this universe.

Dark Alpha's Lover is book number 4 in the Reaper series but you can read it as a stand-alone. 

Just like all other books by Donna, I have absolutely loved this book. I love this story and yes I was sucked into this book right from the beginning and I know I will be re-reading it and the previous books in this series again and again in the future. 

I do recommend this book.

Dark Alpha's Caress

I have been reading all of Donna Grant's books for a few years now and I have loved everything I have read and I am happy to say that I did love this one. 

I have hooked on this book right away and I did love the characters. 

This is book 10 in the Reaper series and you do have to read all the previous books. 

I highly recommend this book.

As you all know by now I am a huge fan of Donna Grant. I have loved every book I have read and I am happy to say that I just loved this book as well. 



Dark Alpha's Temptation is book 9 in the Reaper series and yes you need to read the previous books.



Anyway, as I said before I love this book and I can't wait to read on this series because wow!! THAT TWIST!! Now I need the next book.

If you have been reading my blog for a while you will already know that Donna Grant is one of my favourite authors and yes I buy all her books as soon as I get the chance even if I already have the eARC.



As soon as my copy came in my Kindle I just had to put whatever I was currently reading down and read this book right away even though it wouldn't be published for quite some time. 



First off I have to tell you that this is book 8 in the Reapers series and yes you do have to read all previous books.



I have LOVED all previous books in this series and I am happy to say that I absolutely love this book as well. The story is so darn good and exciting. I just couldn't put this book down.



I do recommend this one.

I am a huge fan of Donna Grant and as soon as I know she has a new book coming out I just have to have it and I can't help but read the books as soon as I get my hands on them.

This is book 6 in the Reaper series and if you are new to this series I do suggest that you start from the very first book because there is a bit of a recap in this book but it would still be better to start from the beginning.

Dark Alpha's Hunger is a fast read that got me reading it in one sitting. It is so very well written and this story got me hooked from the very beginning. 

If you are looking for a good paranormal/fantasy romance book or book series that will hook up right away, I highly recommend this book and series.
