She's written about something that should be overly complicated but is instead overly simple. her prose are accessible. The novel is unlike one because it is basically characterless and plotless. It's just a continuation of a myth where females came first. They lived in communal harmony until the first boy was born after which chaos ensued. 
Some might say the novel is sexist. Lessing herself said she was uninterested in favoring either gender. If it is sexist. It goes both ways. 
I would recommend this novel to people who are interested in reading something different. She's clever in her approach to the lack of individuality and plot. Although in the end you really do wonder what did you get from all this. Hence the 3 stars. 
 BUT I would still want to read more of her books. She's intriguing and bold because she doesn't hide what she thinks.
