I really enjoyed this. There were a couple of quotes that I would literally get tattoos of. Brilliant!

Eggs is a beautiful story of friendship, loss, and family in a small Pennsylvania town. Nine year old David and thirteen year old Primrose develop an unlikely friendship over the course of one summer. Their love-hate bond is infectiously entertaining. Jerry Spinelli manages to incorporate deep meanings into the simplest events. To a young reader, this book may seem like a friendship story. To an adult reader, however, David and Primrose's hardships shine through poignantly and are wonderfully exemplified through Spinelli's use of metaphor. This is a truly vivid work of children's literature that can be easily read and enjoyed by people of all ages.

I love YA lit, but this was simply too juvenile for me. Of course, I should have known this seeing as how the characters were so much younger than those in books I generally read. Still, neither of the main characters were particularly likable. The only reason I read this was for a reading challenge in one of my groups on here. I'm glad it was a short book.
