Just David is one of the sweetest stories I've ever read. Written in a tongue and tone much simpler, yet more eloquent, it easily transports the reader into the scenery, and emotion of the story. If you want a read that is clean, pure, and simply enjoyable, this is the story to pick up. It is Children-friendly and full of beautiful prose, as well as morals.

Such an enchanting little book. I loved everything about it, and if anything, I only wish Porter would have wrote more in her life. This book feels a lot like a boy version of Pollyanna, the plots are very similar, but it takes a more realistic look on events and the idea of music changing lives and curing any sadness truly worked wonders for me. I would recommend it to mostly everyone, even if they did not like the Pollyanna stories. I wish this book was much more well known because it's simply a gem.
