I pause in the middle of sorting through the dresses in the rack in front of me. None of them are right. They're all pretty in a pale sort of way, but this designer has a nasty habit of merely adding inches to their plus sizes instead of actually taking into account how different my curves are from a size two. I had heard they'd gotten better with the new spring line, but obviously I was misinformed.

It never used to be like this. I only went after people who deserved it, people who actively threatened my mother. I was a hunter of monsters, of people who intended to harm the only family I have in this world. Until one day I looked up and realized I'm the biggest monster of all. I'd sacrificed too much, had erased too many lines for morality to be anything more than a theory.

I sit back and rub my hand over my chest. Now is not the time for doubts or guilt or any of that bullshit. I've done worse to nicer people, all because they got in my mother's way or she decided they were threatening her position. The public might think murder is the greater evil, but they haven't seen a young up-and-coming person have everything stripped away. Their beauty, their status, the respect of their peers. It's so fucking easy to dismantle someone's life if you have the right information, the right resources.

The first and most vital rule of the internet is to never read the comments. That is exponentially more important for anyone who doesn't fit the traditional views on beauty or is marginalized in any way, but the truth is that even the thinnest, most gorgeous models get people being terrible in their comments. Trolls will be trolls.

I never expected to get married. It’s not that I have an issue with monogamy, though I've only flirted with it in the past. Something as relatively permanent as marriage is more than just a relationship. It's more than sex, more than moving someone into your space and figuring out how to share it. It's a partnership. An alliance.

it's the silence that comforts me. It’s not strained. I have the strange feeling that Eros would be perfectly content occupying the same room for hours without talking if he had nothing to say. He might pretend to be the pretty playboy, but he doesn't run his mouth for the sole purpose of hearing himself talk. 

I've always liked silence. I think it comes from living with three sisters and a mother who are all talkers. They talk when they are happy, sad, angry, or even bored. No one in my family would be Content to eat a meal without filling the room with some kind of running commentary. There's a comfort in that, but when my stress level reaches a certain point, it becomes just one more thing t weighs on me. I like that Eros doesn't have the same urge. lt makes this space feel almost safe.

“I don't get it. There's nothing to see. Everything's dead." 

“Eros." She smacks my arm lightly with her free hand. "That's very glass half-full of you. The garden isnt dead. It's sleeping." 

I eye what appear to be bare sticks situated on the left side of the cobblestone path. "Looks dead to me." For someone who deals death on occasion, one would think you'd be better able to identify it." She says it so casually, as if she doesn't recognize the barbs attached to each word. 

I'm a killer, and she needs to remember it. "Psyche." 

"It's a reminder:." She's not looking at me. She's studying the sticks as if they hold the secrets of the universe. *Nothing lasts forever. Not the hibernation over the winter, but not the beautiful blooms of summer, either There are seasons to everything.”

Honestly did not expect it to be better than neon gods. Loved it!

I loved this one more that Neon Gods. It was sooo good, I'm currently obsessed with these books so I'm gonna listen to them all. 5/5 cuz I can't give 8/5.

I absolutely loved Neon Gods so when I started ready this I expected the same. I was a little disappointed that it didn't have as many juicy scenes as Neon Gods but I can't expect every book to be super spicy all the time. This book was a nice spicy enemies to lovers romance with a good plot to it and overall was very enjoyable.

Wow this story was truly awful and boring LOL! But I can’t lie I want to read the third book because I’m assuming the lead will be Perseus… Also wow isn’t it weird that I like a random character that was mentioned 4 times more than the male lead in this book… crazy… 
This book was just bad and I was really forcing myself to finish especially after the scene with the mirrors… iyky..

This is a light fun read, but it has basically the same plot as the first book, which is not necessarily a bad thing, I mean, if it works it works(not for me tho).

Easy, sexy read.  Liked it better than 1st in series.

I enjoyed this book, the spicy scenes were nice. It did take me a little longer to read this one, partially because of work and partially because I just wasn’t into it as much as the first book in the series. Don’t get me wrong though the book is really good.

Neon Gods had me in a chokehold, but this just lightly grazed me. Very little spice, and a forced marriage trope didnt do much for me.

This is the second book in the Dark Olympus series. Each of these books are standalones, however I would highly recommend reading them in order so you don't lose your way. I know I would if I read them out of order. This book as well as our main characters, Psyche and Eros, are my most favorite in the Dark Olympus world to date! I’m truly loving this series so much. I loved the dynamic between Psyche and Eros. I loved how strong they both are and how much they complement one another. I especially loved how empowering Psyche was. The one and only thing I don't like about this series, and made me take away a star from my rating, is that the same narrators seem to be doing this entire series. Though Zara Hampton-Brown and Alex Moorcock do an excellent job, it was really hard at times to remind myself that I was reading Eros & Psyche’s story, not Hades & Persephone. Their voices in both books don't change with the characters which was somewhat disappointing and confusing. Overall, I really loved this book and this series is wonderful, here's to diving into book three right now!

Book two is the story of Psyche & Eros. While their initial reason for getting together seems entirely about self preservation, they do have remarkable chemistry. Over all it’s a good continuation to the series.

Loved it! More of a story than Neon Gods, different type of ~spice~ (and maybe slightly less? But that’s REALLY not saying much). Very VERY much appreciated the way this book approached the reality of being a plus-sized woman.

I wanted to like this Dark Olympus book more but the sorta-enemies to married-in-a-day plot didn’t land for me. Also, I appreciated the fat love but at a certain point I felt like… who is she trying to convince this is hot? And what is her deal with writing heroines who don’t eat and men who feed them?!

Oh, this was much more my jam than Neon Gods. I was obsessed with Eros and Psyche's dynamic instantly and it had more romance than smut. But the smut was REALLY good. I just was more invested in their relationship and the plot worked a lot better for me too.

Enemy to lovers, they have their pov. They are complete opposite but think a like.  Absolute love Eros.

Pretty solid fantasy romance read! Decent plot. I enjoyed how fast-paced it was. 3/5 in terms of spice level, but well written overall. And the characters both allude to being bi/pan??! Love that!
