I’ll start with what I really loved about it, which was the whole first half. Right off the bat, I was really into this book. I loved Cara and her best friend, and her best friend’s wacky Ladder plan. I wanted to find out how this would turn out. My guess was that it would end badly before it turned itself around. My guess was pretty spot on. The moment Cara meets Archer and they start hanging out, this book became unputdownable. They had such great chemistry and the banter between the two was just adorable. Things…don’t quite work out for them, which really made me sad, and soon after, Cara takes her Ladder plan a little more seriously. On to the next one, Cara goes. The next one turns out to be one interesting, sad character. I kept hoping Cara would just drop everything and go work things out with Archer!! After that is when I started to lose the momentum in this book, because Cara starts hanging out with the Populazzi and that group is just so unbearable. I could hardly read about it. I just can’t stand those kind of characters. Evil, and selfish, and rich…ugh! I just kind of went on autopilot during that part. I honestly feared this book would not have an ending I was happy with. As I read the last part of it, I had this feeling of foreboding I could not shake, which really upset me considering how much I had enjoyed the first half of this book! But, all the worrying was for nothing. Elise Allen wrote an ending I was happy to read. It definitely redeemed itself in the end.

This book was made of pure squees. I’ve read a lot of “heavier” books lately and this was a refreshing break from that. Elise Allen wrote this typical teen story with a girl striving to rise in popularity. I loved her take on such a normal story though. Her characters were charming and I really felt for Cara through out the whole book. I definitely oohed and awed through many pages and even let a few squees out during some of the more “cutesy” moments. I’m a big fan of these type of high “fluff” stories. I don’t know if it was my lack of high school social skills or that I just wish I was young and naive again. This book will bring you back to those days of longing to fit in and you’ll wish you could be by Cara’s side through some of the tougher moments. All in all this was a great teen read, and I definitely enjoyed it.

Big thank you to Elise Allen for contacting me about the ebook arc on NetGalley. This is my first ever ebook that I read from start to finished. Usually I get really sore heads and thankfully I didn't with the software NetGalley use. 

Populazzi is a funny story about a girl called Cara journey up the Popular Ladder in her new high school. Cara, is really likeable. She is cute and even though she is is flawed as a character she is still great to read about. Her best friend is Claudia, I have mixed feelings about her. On one hand she is a great best friend to Cara. However, on the other hand I felt she was forcing Cara into the idea of climbing up the social ladder.

Usually in books there is always a love interest. However, with Cara she has a few as she is trying to climb her way to be Supreme Populazzi. She jumps from clique to clique, using guys in the process. Even though I didn't think what she was doing was right It was still very fun to read about. 

The thing is really bugged me was her parents. Well mostly her step-dad Karl. I just wanted to jump in the book to slap the man. LOL. He totally blows his gasket after he finds out about Cara lying and sneaking around. I mean ok, parents have the right to be angry and disappointed. However, he was way over the top. Poor Cara, she may have lied and that but still.

The plot of the story is very captivating. Its funny from page one and it was great to have an insight into teh american high school cliques. I remember high, and I know wasn't popular, I was quiet but everyone know everyone and yes there was the popular people but everyone still spoke to everyone and I don't think there was a huge clique thing. However, I could have just been wrong and never really noticed lol.

If you are looking for a fab quick read that will have you laughing out loud. Then this is perfect.
