Well, after seeing the amazing movie, this book was a bit of a let-down. While it is one of the most physically beautiful books in my library, I was a little put out by Maleficent's portrayal. While in the movie she appears more tormented, and determined to rule her way, whether it be light or dark, until she grows closer to Aurora, Maleficent is more...petty in the novel. She throws temper tantrums, and even the most powerful moment on screen is...muffled in text. Epic scenes are downplayed. I did enjoy it, and there's no way I'm selling this beauty, it's only little more than half as good as expected.
