The suspense is pretty non-stop in this one. They’re definitely never safe, so that cause me to bite my nails a lot while reading. Lily and Carter bring on the emotions this one. They don’t know how to exactly fit in their roles and still protect one another. It’s a challenge for them, for sure! And it made me sad for them. Meanwhile, Mel, in the hands of Sebastian, is learning all kinds of new things. She isn’t the happiest of characters at first, but she definitely grew so much through the course of the book. By the end, she’s probably the most kick-ass of all. Sebastian, who really intrigued me in The Farm, totally surprised me in this one. I hope everyone is wrong about him because I’m still going to believe the best. I like how Emily McKay keeps the action going in The Lair. There’s never a lull. It’s truly a page-turner. I should know, since I read it non-stop in one night! I definitely liked The Lair even more than The Farm, and I’m hoping the next one is even better. Can’t wait!
