Without Hine's courageous work, his meticulous note-taking, and dogged determinism, so many would have continued on in chosen ignorance of the dangers of unrestrained capitalism. Freedman deftly threads his narrative between the pictures to unite them and tell a complete story.
I highly recommend this book.
