The geography of the huge brick house they call Camelottery in Toronto creates an almost magical world full of special nicknames and word play. It is refreshing to read a story that celebrates all kinds of families, transracial adoption and the belief that love is love, and I look forward to reading the sequel The Lotterys More or Less. And the illustrations are quirky and warm and perfect, providing a lovely character map every so often punctuating the text and bringing the pieces together in large, intricate group settings.
