This is one of those stories that is told by flashing back and forth between present day and the past. Right off the bat, you are starting the story in the middle and working your way both backwards and forward to fill in the blanks. Then, within the present timeframe you are reading (whether it is the past or the present) the stories are told in sections, so even within the present tense you jump forward a few stories. Once you get the hang of it, it starts becoming a better story. Yet now that I have finished the story I want to re-read this to help fill in the gaps so things aren't so confusing.
