Obviously, most of the world do not have these cocktail parties, and it turns out that women aren’t just housewives who need to be kept busy(!), so the games need decoding a bit into the readers current reality. However, it’s all interesting stuff and clearly sets the important ‘games’ foundation for other writing that follows, such as Karpman’s drama triangle theory.
