This book is fantastic at pointing out the complexities of the gender division of labor. There are so many daily tasks that are typically and societally associated with women that Eve Rodsky points out in this book. It opened my eyes to how close-relationships divide labor among partners and how to effectively solve those issues in a real sense. 

I think this is a must read. This is valuable for so many different audiences. 

I did, however, knock it down a star just because I got a little bored in the middle. But all the concepts in this book are vital!

Worth taking notes! With the mixed reviews I wasn’t sure how much I would actually get out of this one. However, I was pleasantly surprised how many good suggestions there were! It isn’t just about responsibilities but rather how to communicate with your partner in a language that you both agree and understand. 

If nothing else, her creating a list of things from asking other couples what they struggle with, and discovering a percentage of what matters at the highest and lowest. Also, how to discover what matters the most to us as a couple, is helpful.

I personally have taken tips from this book and already started using it in my life.

This book articulated so many things about domestic work, double standards, and implicit expectations that I have never adequately been able to explain. I felt it got a little to rant-y at times, mostly because I was looking for the more concrete strategies for actually creating the change. The game sounds amazing but there’s little about how to combat a resistant spouse or what to do when they can’t/won’t/don’t show up. Still, I loved her take on Unicorn Space and it was inspiring to at least have the conversations even if you’re doubtful.

Muy útil el sistema. Muy interesante como la autora va descomponiendo el problema y volviéndolo a armar, mientras construye una solución, un sistema. Creo que es un buen recurso, aunque también requiere un montón de voluntad desde ambas partes de la pareja, lo que no es sencillo y que hace que existan entornos donde es inaplicable. De todas formas, me parece que realiza un planteo super necesario.
