I must admit that I enjoyed reading Evil Under the Sun more than the previous book in the series, but the far-fetched plot really put a damper into my experience. The murder plot was quite elaborate and dependent on timing, and so many things could go wrong, that I had a hard time picturing it actually working. Did the little Belgium detective invent it all to make for a more interesting case, hmm? The very last interaction between two main characters concerning an ultimatum also took me by surprise. Really, Ms. Christie, was this your idea of a proper matrimony?

I just found out that there was an unabridged audio version of "Evil under the Sun" read by David Suchet (Poirot himself!) but as this abridged version was quite long I can't imagine how many CDs there are in the unabridged one;)

This is my second time reading this. Usually I know it is my second time with an Agatha Christie's book because halfway through it I realise the story is familiar and I go check, but remember absolutely nothing.

For some reason, this one stuck. When reading it this time, I could remember the setting, the murder, the victim and the killer. And also the resolution.
Despite this, I loved it. I love being surprised, but I equally love knowing who did it and catch all the clues and red herrings.

This story also had one of the tropes I prefer for a mystery, the isolated house. In this case it was a hotel and it was on an isolated island, which for me was great. I also enjoy the cases Poirot undertakes when he is on holiday. We are nowhere exotic here, but the feeling is the same.

I had so much fun reading this book.

I heard the story as an unabridged audiobook and enjoyed it very much. I had deduced some of the puzzle but I was intrigued by the story and how it all fit all the same.

Had a sudden craving for Agatha Christie, and I love the Peter Ustinov movie of this book. I'm always a little baffled by the changes those movie folk make to a perfectly delightful story. Anyway, It's a little different, but also a lot the same, and it was so much fun to read. Tempted to read another one, but I'd better save some up. Love that Agatha, and I really loved this book! 

I'm sorry Agatha grew weary of Poirot because he just grows and grows on me! (Although, maybe I assume that because of Ariadne's [she's not in this book] attitude toward her Sven.)

I have no idea how she can write something like this, but I'm completely blown away. Every. Single. Time.
