3.5 rounding up I really thought this was going to be a romance between the character and the printer but I was soooo wrong. I also thought it was going to be a lot "weirder" than it actually was - it was not absurdist or whacky as a concept - just a story about a deeply lonely woman and her friendship (not romance) with a (possibly?) sentient printer. I really enjoyed this, it was a quick read for me to get through in one go. It's not saying anything brand new in terms of the "corporate women with lonely lives" genre of fiction but it was lovely and reflective, some gorgeous prose that really carries the book. The ending disappointed me a little, I feel like I wanted a bit more from it. Also I never thought I'd have so much empathy for a printer. So that's new!
