Okay so when I read the first couple of chapters, I was like, “Oh, another boss/employee steamy story,” -shrugs- “Meh, right as well try it.”

Boy, was I wrong as heck. 

Natalie James, our main character, has come to New York to find out more information about her best friend’s death. She goes to Covet, the modeling agency her friend worked at, and has an interview with the stern Luciano Salvatici. It doesn’t go well. He shoots her down so hard, even I winced. Angry, but not giving up, Natalie leaves the building only to run into the charming, witty Giovanni Salvatici, a photographer for Covet. Hearing that his brother turned her down, he offers her a position as his assistant. Natalie accepts and then starts her investigation in her new position.

So, this is where I stopped and stared suspiciously at my screen. Who is the love interest? Which boss? Yes, I read the summary, but I forgot the name and didn’t bother to go back and check to see what brother it was. So, I kept reading. Not only is Gio a complete pig, but Luc is a low-key sweetheart who just wants to keep Natalie safe.

I won’t spoil anything, but he does try his best to keep her safe from the chaos that starts unraveling around them. Natalie also learns more than she wanted about the Salvatici family as well as the man named Luciano.
