i enjoyed a couple of these stories, and i'm not really sure how i was supposed to read these in a feminist light, the author goes out of her way to lampshade her intentions with cringy passages about how men are the real monsters.

I really loved the idea of this book but I’ll admit, I couldn’t fall in love with it straight away. Not all the writing styles worked for me. The stories themselves were easy to read but also impactful. The illustrations at the start gave you a brief teaser of what the next story will be about. 
The main think I loved about these versions of folk tales from Europe that it is compiled of strictly female-focused stories, highlighting feminine power as well as human interaction with nature - namely human’s disregard for animals and the environment. In almost all of the stories the female is at one with nature, whereas the male is at odds with it. 
I think if you love folk tales, especially the female interaction with nature this is definitely one for you.
