3.5 stars. A good solid, entertaining read. Geonn Cannon is an excellent writer. 

I loved the relationship that developed between Elizabeth and Kelly. If you are looking for a romance you won't find it here. There was a relationship but it wasn't really developed and I think it could have been been a distraction from the thriller/action book I feel this story really is. The writer made a good choice, IMO. Elizabeth is hired to join an elite agency to be a bodyguard to a teenage girl of a very wealthy family. Kelly had escaped possible attempted kidnappings. But nothing is as it seems.

Years ago I read one or two online stories by Cannon that takes place on Squires Isle where this story takes place. A few landmarks and maybe one or two of the residents seemed familiar but I can't be sure. It certainly wasn't a distraction as all the pertinent characters are new. 

Cover: I don't know why, but I really like this cover. Normally covers with a model or a person do not work for me.

The ending reiterates that there is another mystery from Elizabeth's past that needs to be solved and Elizabeth can't let it go. Hopefully, Cannon writes a sequel and perhaps develops the romance that was started in Guard Me? Please? I recommend this book.
