Ghost Wood Song was beautifully written and sucked me right in from the beginning. I loved Shady and how she was willing to do whatever it took to find her daddy's fiddle to prove that her brother didn't murder her stepfather. I actually liked most of the characters except Rose and Sarah.. 
While Shady is trying to uncover the truth, she ends up stirring up other people secrets as well, including the truth about her own familys past. 
I got this book from the library, but I am going to buy it. I think its definitely a book that I want in my library.

I went in to this book knowing the name of it, the cover, and the fact the audiobook narrator had an American South accent and boy did it pay off. I had a great time with this book! I loved the characters and really felt their depth. I had a lump in my throat for the last like 20 minutes and I even had a few laughs escape from this sad spooky book. This book had the three G's Girls Ghosts and Gays and I loved it.

This was a good book with a good atmosphere. But I was expecting more a creepy spooky ghosty story and I think this was more of a family drama with ghosts. The drama is still very interesting and this has probably the only love triagle I have ever enjoyed, because it actually makes sense and it's not predictable (and it is not the main focus of the story). Plus the characters are very well round. I think what makes me give it a 3 stars, besides the fact that I was hoping for another kind of story (which it's totally my fault) is that some things were a bit stretched out (like the main character having a feeling for no reason at all but it always turned out to be right) and the fact that barely anyone was open about anything, which I guess served the plot but sometimes it was a bit too much imo. Still, I recommend it!

This was a really atmospheric read, just the right level of creepy for me as I'm not a horror fan. The characters were all really interesting, I loved Shady and how she was dealing with so much all at once. The story was very well paced and flowed nicely. The slow reveal of the truth as the story progressed was also well executed.

4.5 stars.
