This score is purely a reflection of my personal tastes. Attempting to expand my preferences when it comes to books, but it seems that this was not it for me.

So endearingly naive, the science part of the fiction, the idea that one man can build an apparatus to take him to the Moon, basically in his back yard, and get to the Moon, alone!..
But the part about human fears and doubts and loneliness and emotions is spot on.

When penniless businessman Mr Bedford retreats to the Kent coast to write a play, he meets by chance the brilliant Dr Cavor, an absent-minded scientist on the brink of developing a material that blocks gravity.
