The alternative for Palestinians has to be one secular democratic state in historic Palestine, a state in which all citizens are treated equally regardless of their religion, gender, and colour. This state has to embrace the return of refugees and self-determination, both of which are a step towards solving the Palestinian and the Jewish questions. This is what the Palestinian people have to strive for - to turn the whole hegemonic political equation upside down.

The de-Osloization of Palestine, for most Palestinian activists, has become a precondition for the creation of peace with justice.

That requires a redefinition of the Palestinian cause as an anti-colonial struggle against a system of settler-colonialism and apartheid, and reunification of the three components of the Palestinian people, namely, Gaza and the West Bank residents, refugees, and Palestinian citizens of Israel.

Urgent book critical of Oslo accords and a manifesto of the one state solution for Palestine. Hadar Eid a Palestinian scholar did he’s PhD in South Africa and has spent much time here, in this book he draws comparisons to South African apartheid to critique the quest for a two state solution he argues is racist and calls “bantustanisation” of the Palestinian question. He argues for the need for a secular state while mainly criticising the Oslo accords and their role in neutralising Palestinian resistance and pushing forward the legitimacy of Israeli apartheid by mobilising for two states based on race/religion.

 I saw Hadar Eid in conversation last year at open book festival in Cape Town and he mentioned the title of this book being a homage to Kenyan scholar and academic
