I was so skeptical of this book series before I started it and yet I really need august 5th to come early. I need to read the end of this story ASAP. It was so funy and constructed in a cool, lighthearted manner.

I think I’ve figured out why I enjoy this story so much…it kind of reminds me of Ella Enchanted, the movie, not necessarily the book. It’s been at least twenty years since I read that 😅. There’s something about the way it’s written I can SEE the camp come to life in my head the way it would take place on screen. I just imagine Joey King as Evie Sage delivering the perfectly campy lines, and I just adore all the secondary character development we got in this book. I love how the author isn’t afraid to have multiple storylines going on at the same time while keeping us engaged with both. I am about to scream if Evie and Trystan don’t hurry it up and get together! But ultimately this story so far is just a good time and should be appreciated as such.

Ms. Maehrer did it again. I didn’t want to put it down and was just hooked from the very beginning. It’s funny, it’s fantasy, it’s romance. What more could you need??

This is so cute. It’s such a fun read for the fall. It’s the perfect cozy fantasy romance that you can’t help but laugh to. I do think I liked the first one more than this one. I think this one circled a lot of things over and over and that took away from my experience. But overall it’s a fun read that isn’t super heavy plot wise or fantasy world wise. I do recommend it if you want a cute cozy fantasy that is perfect to read during the fall.

This is so cute. It’s such a fun read for the fall. It’s the perfect cozy fantasy romance that you can’t help but laugh to. I do think I liked the first one more than this one. I think this one circled a lot of things over and over and that took away from my experience. But overall it’s a fun read that isn’t super heavy plot wise or fantasy world wise. this is very quickly shaping up to be a lil comfort trilogy for me, because if book three is anything like the first two, i know im going to be absolutely obsessed!!

the slow burn in this continues, and let me tell you, it’s sooo slow but sooo worth it! i tabbed the absolute heck out of this book any time there was increased tension or jealousy between evie and the villain.

the way the villain is so jealous of any other male being close to evie, even on a friendship level like blade, just absolutely gets me. he’s so broody and possessive but in the best way possible, i’m actually just out here trying to find my own villain 😂

but what really makes the relationship between these two so fun to read is the PINING!! the way they are both pining for each other but feel they can’t possibly like each other 😮‍💨

this one was a touch slower in terms of the plot moving along, but i enjoyed it nonetheless and actually found the little pieces of information getting revealed along the way kept me engaged in the story. the addition of different pov’s in this also kept me on my toes and meant i got to see the story progress from some new pov’s.

sorry but it’s unacceptable that i need to wait till sept 2025 for book three, i simply cannot go on with life 😭😭

p.s. i think we need a kingsley book, he’s my fave lil frog prince

It was a good, silly little book, and I will likely read the third (if she writes one). But talk about slow burn. There are moments when I wonder if this is a YA book, but then I remember all the innuendos and subject material and think it can't possibly be.

I am so freaking happy!  You always worry for the 2nd book in a series - will it be as funny/poignant/etc as the first.  I was not disappointed.  Evie, Trys and the rest of the Villains gang are back and causing mayhem in their world!

We have to navigate fake deaths, abduction, torture, dealing with grief and trauma, and learning that not all we thought about this world is as it seems!  Evie may be walking sunshine but she has a deep well of trauma that she plasters over with a smile.  I feel her pain!  Trys is trying to keep up the villain act but he's the nicest villain I've ever met - even when doing something "bad" you can't help but hope he comes out on top!

I loves learning more about Trys, Kingsley, Bekah and Gideon.  There are lots of secrets and lies to be uncovered there.  There are also some little breadcrumbs that lead me to think that there may be more than one romance on a slow boil! Sadly there is no redemption for Evie's father - that man can take a long walk off a short plank as far as I'm concerned!

Fluffy and Gurves are so cute - I really want some stuffies of these guys!  A funny, heartwarming and adventure filled escapade.  Forget your troubles for a while and bask in the feel good vibes in Rennedawn!
