We believe that a serious re-evaluation of whether or to what extent links are beneficial in hypermedia systems is important; this fact has been observed by others earlier, starting with von Damm's keynote address at 'Hypertext'87'; yet little has happened, sofar [sic]; in this paper we propose a first significant step in using structure to replace links."
