Galen on Diseases and Symptoms Their Classifications and Causation : a Translation of Galen's Four Treatises on the Classes and Causes of Diseases and Symptons and an Analysis of Their Contribution to Ancient Theories of Medicine

The primary purpose of this thesis is to present a translation of four treatises by Galen on the classification and causes of diseases and symptoms: De differntiis morborum, De morborum causis, De differentiis symptomatum and De symptomatum causis, Books I-III. It also focuses on the nexus between the theoretical and the practical and the enduring relevance of Galen's concepts and his approach to these foundational theoretical issues.
