The moral dilemmas that arose based on the premise of reincarnating souls were interesting.

I related to Ana's character quite well.

Das war ein Re-read für mich. Als Teenie fand ich das Buch echt klasse, ich kann jetzt auch leicht erkennen, was mich daran so angesprochen hat, aber mittlerweile ist es etwas enttäuschend, wenn man es mit so hohen Erwartungen wieder liest. Der Hauptcharakter ist mir jetzt auch einfach nicht mehr wirklich sympathisch. Immerhin kann ich an meiner Wahrnehmung von dem Buch sehen, wie ich mich weiterentwickelt habe.

I love the writing style of Jodi Meadows. However, I am not sure how I feel about this book.

This book deals strongly in reincarnation, which is fine. It was an interesting read. However, if someone is born with a "new soul" that does not make them bad or mean they have "no soul"! I mean, every soul was new at one point in time. Being new does not make it bad. This is what I had issues with in the book. People were so scared of something changing that they forgot to realize that that is exactly how they all started hundreds, if not thousands, of years ago. Except for this premise, I loved the book. It was well-written and engaging. You felt immediate sympathy and empathy for the protagonist as the book went on. You kept hoping that things would get better for her and that the others would realize that she isn't evil. Of course change can be scary, but this isn't necessarily change. Everyone was "born" at one point and then their souls kept coming back. Well, here is a new one that will hopefully do the same.

Granted, her coming into existence was an act of man, not an act of God (or Janan in this book). But she didn't do anything wrong and people should stop acting as if she did. Especially her mom.

The book was alright. Hopefully the next one will be better. 3/5 stars for me

Let's be honest, that cover is gorgeous. I cannot deny that I was first drawn to this book because of how beautiful I found it. But hey, that is not a bad thing. The cover was attention grabbing; it made me want to pick the book up and see if the words on the inside were just as amazing as the cover on the outside. And let me tell you, they were.

I was hooked, almost instantly, from the first few pages. 

We have dystopian world where in the country of Range, souls have been reincarnating over and over. The people of Range have known each other for thousands of years and remember everyone and all their hundreds of lives. Then one day, someone dies, and instead of their soul being reborn, it is gone. No one knows what caused this soul to disappear. But in its place, a new soul was born. This new soul is our main protagonist, Ana. Unfortunately for Ana, most of the people of Range blame her existence for the loss of the other soul. Including her own mother, Li, who kicks her out of the house.

 Out in the real world for the first time, lacking the skills and knowledge that everyone else in Range possess, Ana makes it her mission to get to Heart as she believes it is there she will discover the truth behind her existence. As Ana's story unfolds, we are introduced to a dangerous world of slyph, dragons, and people who want Ana dead. 

Jodi Meadows has a real talent when it comes to creating strong characters that you cannot help but get attached to. Ana is a strong character, even though at times she seems to be dependent on others, such as Sam. But when you think about it, she knows nothing really of the world and everyone else has had thousands of years to figure things out, so her dependency is understandable. And she grows as a character as the book and series progresses. Sam, you just can't help but love. From the very beginning, he is very accepting of Ana, even though she's the "no soul". Li, well, she is pretty awful and I can't stand her; that's all I have to say about her. 

The romance is perhaps the one thing that bothered me. But even then, it was not that big a deal honestly. The romance was kind of insta-lovey, which is pretty typical of the YA genre. Normally, this irks me quite a bit, but I enjoyed everything else about the book so much that I was able to overlook the insta-love just this once.

The world building in this book was brilliant, as was the writing style. I just could not pull myself away from the story being told and found myself desperate to get my hands on the rest of the triology (which I did, immediately!). The whole concept of reincarnation is fascinating and Meadows truly took a unique and captivating twist on this concept. Incarnate was action packed, unique and a fantastic read. I highly recommend it!

Wow. I really enjoyed that. The plot was intense and I never felt bored while reading. The romance was enjoyable, although I wish it did start a little earlier. Overall, a really good book.

This book was actually really fun and addictive. Read this in just under 24h. The worldbuilding and plot were not developed to their full potential, I think. But the ideas were very original. I also really enjoyed the romance.

This book would be a 4.5 stars for me!!! I loved the world that the author created. I have read a lot of reincarnation books lately and this one has a totally different take than any other book. There are 1 million souls that have been reincarnated for 5000 years and Ana is the first new soul to ever be born. She had a horrible Then she meets Sam!!! I love that the romance between Ana and Sam moves very slowly. You get to experience all these new things with Ana because she is doing them for the first time. She doesn't know if she will be reincarnated so this could be her only shot at living her life and she is determined to live it to the fullest!!! This book was a great read and I can't wait for the next one to come out!!!

I really wanted to enjoy this book, since the author seems like such a sweetheart on social media... but overall the tone (style, vocabulary, etc.) comes across more middle grade than young adult, even though the MC is 18. The MC is petulant and the people she interacts with — supposedly thousands of years old — all behave like petty teenagers holding grudges not worth killing over. Elements of the world-building also seemed disjointed. I’ll try some of the author’s other works and see if I have better luck.
