I thought this was an adorable little story about Kensington Gardens, Peter Pan and fairies.

I don’t think it’s as good as Peter and Wendy, but it certainly held the same magical quality to it. The plot isn’t as interesting and there wasn’t really an established main character which got confusing at times.

It was nice to see the things that crossover into Peter and Wendy, like how the fairies built a house around a little girl and the thimble and kiss exchange with Peter and a girl (who’s name I can’t remember).

Overall, I’d recommend if you want to learn more of Peter’s backstory and read ‘Peter and Wendy’. I wouldn’t bother reading if you haven’t read that and don’t like nonsensical things, it’s similar to ‘Alice’ in that way.

Peter Pan made his first appearance (as a baby) in the first of these two works (1906). Subsequently, the famous play in which he is the boy hero of Neverland was retold in prose in "Peter and Wendy" (1911). This volume prints both these original texts with notes.
