Of course, I'd make sure the panties were worn. What do you think this is, some kind of kiddie show?

I came to this book after reading more recent Ellroy fare, and it was interesting to see the dude using longer, more complex sentences. Still crazy-dense from a plot perspective and still Ellroy-crazy, it was super satisfying to read.
