The Fanatic

The Fantatic is a comic novel about religious fanaticism, concerning a foolish professor whose misguided quest for sainthood in two religions at the same time leads to turmoil and disaster. It is a theological variant of the Don Quixote theme, whose hero mixes goodness with foolishness, religious enthusiasm with mindless stupidity, and who drives his earth-bound wife to adultery and deception.
