The last half of the book was pretty good. However it took forever to get anywhere in the beginning and I almost stopped listening.

The actual mystery part of this book was pretty interesting, but a lot of the rest was boring fluff involving the main character's personal life, which I DID NOT care about. Add in some really gross and harmful stereotyping about people with psychopathy--as in, every conversation about them was how they need some sort of medical and/or therapeutic intervention to have even a semblance of a normal life. I feel like the author did juuust enough skimming of the DSM-V to know what that condition is, but never once tried to speak with someone who has it or even attempt to understand their thought processes. Yet another mystery/thriller that automatically villainizes anyone who isn't neurotypical :/
