I'm not usually a fan of detective novels, but I did really enjoy this one. I enjoyed the overall mystery and trying to figure it out before the detectives do. (view spoiler)[I was very very wrong, but I loved speculating and I of course suspected every person that Maeve and Josh spoke to. (hide spoiler)] I know this is the eighth book in a series, but it's pretty alright to read as a standalone, as I believe all books in this series follow its own mystery. There are some references to things that happened in previous books, of course, but that didn't stop me from enjoying this book. Might check out the other books, though, and perhaps read them in order.
