Definitely a top 10 for my 2018 reading. Loved loved this. Don't let the title turn you off Filth refers to Failed-In-London-Try-Hong-kong. It's a story about a wealthy old man as he looks back on his life from when he was born in the Far East, shipped off 'Home' to England at 5 a 'Raj-orphan', schools and then WW2. At the same time in the present day the threads of his past are drawing together. Wholly satisfying yet the first book of a trilogy despite having a solid ending.
