Bitter End is a good read. It's a precautionary tale for young girls (and boys alike) about how quickly the one you love can turn into the one you fear more than anything. I liked this book, but there was something missing. I felt that everything was rushed - the falling in love, Alex going along blindly with everything Cole said, the ending, how fast the break-up turned into an epilogue, the oh-so-planned Colorado trip barely even happening. I think that Zack and Bethany were good characters who could've been played with more, but I liked them nonetheless. I've also got a lot of unanswered questions, ones that I feel I can't make stuff up for - What was Cole's family stuff? Did his Dad abuse Brenda, and is that why Cole was the way he was? What happened to Tina? What did Alex do after breaking up with him? I guess I'll never know.
