Screaming, crying, throwing up. I can’t wait for the third book to come out. I absolutely adore Thane and Layala. I’m so nervous that the author is gonna have her get with Hel because she’s a vampire diaries lover and team daemon, as am I, but I can’t let Thane and Layala go. Hopefully this is another Feyre and Rhysand story if she does go that route. I trust no one after SJM.

I have been invested since I read the first book, I absolutely love them. They are a little slow but I love the world building and characters. I was getting TVD feelings and it was just great. Can’t wait for more of the defendant and how this whole thing started.

The characters tend to not behave the way they would, like the author uses them just to get to the plot faster. I do not like that at all. When reading a book, you get to know the characters, and them behaving in a way just because it benefits the author, the plot, or the way the scene is taking is just wrong. It made me want to stop reading. And honestly the main character, Layala, is the worst at this, she just doesnt seem to grow into a better character. She gets worse, and not because of the thing she has to go through, but because it benefits the author and the way they wanted the scenes to flow. If i didnt like the plot this book would have gotten a 0. It's like the first book but the plot is kinda better.
