I wish this book hadn't spent so much time replaying the first; it was to the extent that I questioned why we had to read the first, and I almost docked a star for it. But once we finally got past the first quarter of the book and into the actual story, it was a beautiful story. This wasn't just Haakon's story, and it was very little about his romance, it was a continuation of the Norgaards' story as a whole- which I actually appreciated. Haakon's redemption was beautifully done and his sin was treated very, very gravely, which I thought was excellent, especially considering the fact that he didn't even follow his passions to the extent he was tempted to.
