I dont know why I started it in the first place...

Almost the exact same plot as FSG except the Male love interest is way more irritating. There's no communication whatsoever and they can't decide on something and stick with it. So much back and forth! Holly cow.

It was good if we can read the man’s pov in this book instead just the woman but I love this book. Not everyone can relate but my love for this book is incredible.

Lover of Romance 

This book is crazy sauce.... I did like how well written this book is and was really surprised considering how hyped these books are. But the hero is overly controlling and came on way too strong even for me and I adore my sexy alpha males. I had a feeling of telling the heroine to “run for the hills “ hehe but other times during the story I really had a fun time with this story. I probably just like all the crazy. But the one character I can’t even like....Kate, the best friends to the heroine is horrible. She is the worst friend ever and I couldn’t understand why she never supported the heroine and was pushing her towards Jesse . 

I did have a fun time with this one and I eager for book two.

I waited so long to read these and wanted a big 5 star read, but it's a 4 star for me. Still a really good read, but the back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and repetitive drama made me nutty!

So I don't know what to think about this book. It was a little bit too long. It dragged at parts, became repetitive. I hated the controlling nature of Jesse. I know he has a past but I hated how he manhandled Ava. And I hated that she let him overpower her. It made me crazy how ''easy'' she was. I mean I get the plot and everything and the pull she felt towards him but, at times you just have to be strong! It drove me mad that she did't know what was going on at the Manor. I knew exactly what was going on since day one. I will read the next books because I'm intigued, I want to know what happens between Jesse and Ava and if he changes he's control freakness and they can work out nicely. But I hated (view spoiler)[he slept with married women! he broke up marriages, it's somessed up how can he own a fucking sex club? it's disgusting but we'll see where this ends (hide spoiler)]

3 1/2 Conflicted Stars!

This is one those hair-pulling books that no matter how hard you contemplate it, you just can't really tell anyone what you thought of it. My emotions in this were so conflicting that if someone asked me if I recommend this book, I honestly wouldn't have an answer for you. I think it's one of those books that everyone has an opinion on..good and bad, and you just have to read it for yourself, to see if you can put up with it!

The beginning of the book was nothing special. In fact I felt like I was reading a biography based on the lack of emotion it brought out (in fact a biography might have attracted my attention more).

  Middle of Book:


I actually really started to enjoy the book at this point. I felt like I was connected with the characters, and thought that I had found a new book series to enjoy! The sex scenes were hot, the alpha-male goodness overwhelming, and to be honest, I was just pretty freaking excited!!

What did I just read?! I was FINALLY starting to like Jesse (the hero) and that's saying a lot considering he had borderline-stalker behavior sometimes..and even through all that he grew on me, and then I have to find out that he wasn't the guy that I thought he was. I was so disappointed!!! If you read this one, you know what I'm talking about.

This isn't going to be an in-depth review, because my feelings on it just aren't something that I can clearly talk about. Honestly, I don't think I will continue this series, only because I've already read a lot of reviews for the second book, and I don't like the direction that the books are heading. Shame cause I feel like this series had a lot of potential. However, I'm considering re-reading this series and giving them another chance and view!

I don't like to say I read "guilty pleasure" books, because I don't really believe in the concept. Reading is reading and read what you like.

That said, this is a book I did feel guilty while reading. I felt a bit guilty for kind of being turned on by it (despite it being very very troubling). The story is basically a fuck-fest between a hot, sexy interior designer and a billionaire bad boy English Lord of indeterminate age, who, if he wasn't the hottest thing you ever met and so rich he could buy the moon, you would call the police on for his crazy, stalker, abusive behavior. He's controlling (no swearing, can't dress the way you want to, gets in fights, etc), he's kind of scary, he says he isn't a dominant which makes it worse (no rules for him thank you very much), and he may or may not be stealing the heroine's birth control pills. Someone definitely is.

There's slut-shaming, there's a scene with really unbelievable butt-sex, and there are so many repetitive lines and happenings that I felt like the author was using the "copy/paste" function to pad the book. The book is pretty damn large, so come one, cut out a few of the "watch your mouth" scenes. Also, he can swear like a sailor, but NOT FOR HER. I would understand this more if he did not like swearing? Just seems very weird. 

From a plot standpoint, there is just a complete lack of communication between the two characters which leads to all of the drama and tension (boring), and a lack of character development. Also, there is a cliff-hanger. Blah.

So, I read it. It is a a good book for a wank, if that is what you're looking for. I also put the next book on hold because I'm a glutton for punishment and again, guilty pleasure.

Surprisingly really enjoyed this, despite how I felt about the first book and the insanity that is Jesse Ward. This is the story that would've been if Ava were sensible and Jesse had toned down his craziness. Plus, I loved that Jesse's 'old' age was a running joke throughout the book.
