This book wet my appetite for learning even more about Jackson, mostly because this book focused primarily on Jackson's White House years. It's also because this book was well-written and made me want to know more about its subject.
The narrator could have done a better job. He wasn't bad but he wasn't particularly compelling either.
Meacham does a fairly good job dealing with all aspects of Jackson's White House years from the personal to the international although at times the weight of the narrative seems to fall on the personal, specifically Emily, the wife of Jackson's nephew.
Meacham also dealt with the Indian removal and the Nullification crisis brilliantly. I loved his coverage and wished that he spent even more time.
I have to disclose that some of the audiobook tracks were out of order and/or missing on my iPod so I did not get as full picture as I would have wished.

I definitely recommend this book and apologize for the highly distracted nature of the review.
